The Shrimp is a kickin!

Yea, Shrimpy is kickin!

Katie text'd me on Thur night that she felt you moving and kickin. I was so jealous that I insisted that she just had indigestion. I didn't want her to be the first to feel you move...hehe...like that was possible. Well, on Sunday night I got to feel you move for the first time. Oh, what a feeling! It was cute in that as I would push on momma's belly, you would push back. It only lasted a few minutes but some that I will remember forever.

It is so beautiful that inside that little bump is our son, The Shrimp! We are blessed that the progress has been smooth and look forward to your unveiling coming September.

Mother's Day

Hey Shrimp,

Well, yesterday was Mother's Day 2010. It was such an amazing day to reflect on what the day represents along with the joy this day will bring in the years to come. I know that my mother, G-ma Beav, considers the day just like any other although us kids believe that this is a day for reflection on how truly blessed we have been with such a supportive, inspirational, and loving mother like she has been for us! To this day I still believe she should write a book on “how to be the perfect mother.”

Knowing that, I truly believe and know that Katie is going to be one amazing mother! That is why I swooped her up the first chance I could! Just watching her interact with you, the baby bump as you are known, is so adorable! Today we took a bike ride around the Lakes and I had a smile on my face the entire time about what a joy you have brought to our life thus far and how Mothers Day now has a whole other meaning!

Shrimpy, we are so blessed to have such loving and supportive families that we can't wait to introduce and share with you for years to come!

HOW CUTE IS THAT!?!?!?!?!?

Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Backstrom - So cute....!!!!! I can't wait to see Shrimpy in his ladybug outfit!

A Bump Update - 22 weeks (and 3days)

I've been reluctant to take the "bump pictures" but will be fun to remember. Here I am at just over 22 weeks - pardon the "look" but Shrimps and I just finished a grueling workout!

The first things WE bought for shrimpy!

Coincidence....

Thursday night, Bradley and I BOTH came home with our first purchase for Shrimpy! Bradley had gone to Target for some other things and "slowrolled" (as he put it - poker term) through the baby section and found a "must-buy!" It is obvious where his loyalties lie!



The same day, I found out that Uberbaby outlet was having a closing sale - 75% off everything! Of course, I zoomed over during lunch and bought some things for Shrimpy - mostly some very hip stylish shirts, but the first purchase was below...



But... that was just the beginning for the week! We had a GM sale at SUPERVALU on Friday where everything is cheap, cheap, CHEAP! Tiana and I had been strategizing all week - we had gone back to preview all the baby items, mapped out a plan of attack, and had our huge IKEA bags ready to go! We did execute a pretty covert and obnoxious plan to be first in line and I got a TON of stuff for Shrimpy - all for 100 bucks!





Of course, in addition, I have been stocking up with Baby Basics diapers and wipes from work.....



Last week, Bryan and Jessie graciously passed down some great baby stuff - a jogging stroller I am beyond stoked about, exersaucer, activity mat, bottles, toys, and more!

Lastly, Grandma Vander Stelt has sent us some great stuff as well - a baby bag, a cute monster hat, and tons of baby accessories... It is so fun to start seeing the baby stuff infiltrate our little home! :)
