**** 39 Weeks ****

Today officially marks 39 weeks, and NO ONE could be more impatient than I am for Samuel to make his appearance!  Living in this "it could be any day" is agonizing, but it is at least reassuring to know the end is near and we will be holding a baby very soon! 

We don't have a baby room for Samuel as we are in a one bedroom condo, but the dining room corner has officially become the "Baby Corner."  Today, I spent time a lot of the day doing some final organizing, putting the infant seat together, and sorting the first rounds of clothing we will need.  I even made tags for the different sizes.  I love going through all his stuff - his clothes and blankets - it does make me even more excited and impatient, though!!

Monday night we brought dinner over to our friends Dan and Tiana's house for a cookout - they just had a baby boy, Patrick Logan, 3 weeks ago!  Dan was telling us about his first "golden shower" experience and I think this is what prompted Bradley!

SURPRISE!!!!!

I did not think it possible to be totally surprised and taken off guard as I usually pick up on the "going-ons" in the labs in back, but they got me!  I was heading back to our Product Development team meeting on Wednesday - and yes, it was in the back lab instead of the usual "war room" but we often get kicked out to make way for upper management!  I walked in and everyone was there and the back labs were decked out with balloons, bows, decorations, a huge cake, and Phillips' custom (not available in stores) ice cream!  A fun hour with the team, some fun gifts and Babies R Us gift card as well - very thoughtful!

Sirisha took a few pictures for me - she was somewhat of the "mastermind" behind it. 

A Crafty Saturday!

I spent Saturday afternoon making adorable thank you cards for all of Shrimpy's wonderful gifts thus far......  here is just a sampling of the cards I made!

Aunt Mary put on a beautiful shower for Baby Backstrom this last Sunday with mostly family and some friends - what a great time visiting, fabulous food, and fun new gifts for the Baby!

It's been way to long since I posted!!  We have been in swing for the summer and mom has been keeping most of the blog updated.

Today mom had a baby shower for you at Auntie Mary's and we are very thankful for all of the generous gifts.  Grandpa, Uncle Davey, and I hit Lake Minnetonka while the girls had the party.  Dad got to wakeboard and once again showed how old he is getting.  I just can't move like I used too...haha!

A few weeks ago I put in an order for a few customized Shrimpy gear and below are the pics.  We couldn't be happier as parents to bring you into this world!

In 2 weekends, Aug 15, your mother and I celebrate our 1-year anniversary!  It is hard to believe it has been 1-year already.  Each and everyday I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to have met the most beautiful, supportive best-friend I could have ever imagined!  I love you darling and I can't wait to enjoy the rest of our lives together with this little bundle of joy, the Shrimps!  Shrimps, you will soon find out what I am talking about and will be lucky to have such a wonderful mother!

As I close, your mom is working day and night on your home-made "activity book" which features critters like a Lion, Owl, Elephant, Frog, Duck...and so much more.  She is getting into little projects that are sure to keep her busy during her much anticipated leave.

We love you Shrimps and we haven't even met you yet! :)  You are a blessing to us and don't ever forget that we love you!
