Baby B

So, we officially have a date for Baby B #2, 

unless she decides to come early, which I don't expect (yet Bradley predicts)!  January 17 is the scheduled date and I can't believe we are less than 3 weeks away - we are excited and relishing our sleep until then (at least mom is).  

I can't wait to see what Sam thinks of his new little sister and I can't wait to meet her!  He does try to look under my shirt to see the "Be-Be" and will play with my belly button and pat/slap my stomach.  It seems like when he is crying or talking she moves and kicks a lot so I think she'll recognize him as much as all of us!

We haven't taken many Pregnancy pictures, but we have to have at least one on record - Mom at 36+ weeks.

This pregnancy has been similar in many ways to Sam - pretty smooth - a few differences - better skin, more heartburn, and a couple more pounds!  Maybe because I don't have the time or agreeable weather to go on two 3-mile walks a day like I did with Sam :) 

 

 The only baby gear we've added is a NapNanny which mom is SO EXCITED about - Sam loves to climb on it!  It is the one thing I saw after having Sam that I felt I needed / had to have!  Here is Sam climbing in it!

We are also getting a double stroller and have bought some clothing, but we have gotten a lot more hand-me-downs and clothing gifts than I expected. 

Grandma Vander Stelt has made some beautiful blankets for the baby, which we love, and lots of gifts from Mema and Papa Backstrom as well!  We are blessed!

We are still debating on names - stuck between two - I'm having a hard time on this one!  Maybe it will come down to the wire.

Entertainment for the weekend - Big boxes and packing peanuts!

It was quite a messy ordeal 
but worth all the fun!

15 Month Check Up

Sam had his 15 month check-up on December 9 - mom was very wary of the appointment as the 12 month was a little intense with an hour plus wait, blood draw, 5 shots, and poking and prodding that Sam was much more aware of in the past and not happy about!  He had also had an appointment the week prior for an ear infection and would scream anytime he saw a nurse - so bad, she had to stand out of view when we weighed him.

Luckily, the 15 month went a lot smoother - he wasn't stoked about the measuring and checks, but manageable and he only needed two shots which was a little less intense.  As far as his progress, everything looks good!  He is so mobile on his feet and very strong!  He has a few words down but more babbling than words - we'll have to keep working on that one!

WEIGHT:  25 lb, 15oz (50-75 %tile)

HEIGHT:  31.5" (50-75 %tile)

HEAD: 19.25" (90-97 %tile)

Bedtime Story

Ryan and Colleen watched Sam for a few hours on Saturday night for us and sent us a cute picture of storytime with Sam and Isaiah!



Sam's Sign Language

I finally took a video with Sam showing some of his sign language skills.  He does it when he wants something or while eating, but will do it if you ask/prompt him as well, as in the video.... sometimes better than others!  I was interrupting his eating so it was a little half-hearted at times :)

Sam and his "Throne"

I have been taking pictures of Sam the last few days in his chair as he has made it his throne!  He loves to lounge in his chair and even though he never sits for long, he is always going back to it!  I think he loves to hang out in the living room with mom and dad and have his own place to hang out!  So, here's about 7 more pictures than you really need to see of Sam in his chair, but so cute......

 

 

Very Lazy Weekend......

We had a very lazy weekend, mainly due to a week filled with excitement we didn't want - the flu!  Sam came down with the flu early Wednesday morning - think 12:30am - vomiting.  Dad had to put him in the bath and then every hour or two he woke up again sick - it may be the most sad thing in the world to see a baby sick and scared! :(  Mom stayed home with Sam on Wednesday - he was very chill - just hanging out on the "bed" mom made on the couch.

He even got to watch his new DVD's - Yo Gabba Gabba - in the afternoon when he was feeling a little bit better!  Sam was better on Thursday and back to daycare where we found out he wasn't the only victim!  

Mom and dad thought they had escaped, until mom came down with the same flu bug exactly 48 hours later - not a fun night when you are 28 weeks pregnant - or ever for that matter!  Dad escaped - the only one of us who DIDN'T get a flu shot - go figure!

SAM'S NEW FAVORITE THING - HIS CHAIR!

Sam LOVES the chairs at daycare and is always sitting in them with books and playing in them - we were excited to find one for him at Big Lots!   We were debating the purchase at Big Lots as Sam proudly sat in the chair squealing - screaming when we were going to leave without.... maybe a little spoiled but it's been a good purchase as it's his go to hang out spot!  It is definitely his throne :)

The only issue is it created a discipline situation - he loves to stand in it and dad is determined to ensure that never happens :)

Sam loves to play in his piles of toys - I can't believe how they've exponentially increased!

The best thing lately is getting HUGS from Sam - he now comes up and hugs me and it's the sweetest thing ever!  He knows how to work his mom :)
