Christmas 2014

 CHRISTMAS EVE

For Christmas Eve, we went to church and then came home for a Christmas Eve dinner of ribs, loaded potatoes, fruit and rolls.  The kids loved having a sparkling apple cider toast, but the thing they were MOST excited about was that i gave them a plastic knife (along with plastic fork).... who knew?????

OPENING PRESENTS

Sam loved his Steelheads hockey puck and jersey.  He also got a stuffed robot,
doctor kit, and batman floor puzzle.

Ava got a frozen floor puzzle, frozen light up shoes and headband, a doctor kit and stuffed ponies.  They both got a new fishing game.

CHRISTMAS MORNING

Stockings in the morning

Daddy went snowboarding up at Bogus and the kids insisted on making snow angels in the light dusting of snow we received overnight.

First snowman of the season

These two LOVE the snow and were so excited to try and build a snowman. They got a cheese stick for a nose and caps for eyes, but barely shoveled a small pile of snow. Mom came out and helped them roll out some snowballs in the alley and make a real snowman and it was worth it to see how excited these two were!!!!

Rascals

Not too many dull moments around our house - between the wild imaginations, fights, crying, and destructive tendencies, we rarely sit still.   But amidst the wiping of noses and bums and the constant messes we pick up, we do laugh a lot!

Sam fears no elf and attempts to put an end to Elfie once and for all.
Elf has not proven to be a good tool for behavior modification - Sam just insists he is not looking or only watching Ava.
They are excited to find him in the morning, but it is competitive with the one NOT finding him in tears!  I may shoot him with a dart gun next!

Ava woke us up one morning clutching something in her palm - when we asked her what it was, she replied, "Kitty's Heart."  Kitty is her most prized lovey and is a Hello Kitty from Build-A-Bear.  She stated, "There was a treasure and I got it!"
When we made it down to her room, we found she had dismantled Kitty to get to the heart inside her.  Kitty is restuffed and awaiting minor surgery.

When they are not fighting, they are fantastic buddies and the last few nights have produced Ballerina shows for mom and dad.

Today I saw dad's influence on Sam as I brought him to get a haircut - usually dad does this and has a specific "girl" he will only get his hair cut by.  Because of her schedule, Sam couldn't go with him and was in need of a cut.  As we pulled up to Sports Clips today, Sam stated, "I think My Girl is here today."  I said, "Really, you think so?"  He said "Yes, mom, Daddy and me have Girls here."  Great.....  Ha Ha!

Sam, the Wiseman

Sam was, in mom's opinion, the cutest wiseman for his PreK mini program!
He was so excited to wear his crown and carry his treasure, but mostly to sing for mom and dad and all the parents!
After his program, mom and dad took Sam to his choice of lunch - Chik Fil A- and then Christmas Break officially began!

Sam, with his best friend, Matias, as a Shepherd.

Ava & Santa

Not surprising Ava wants something from the move Frozen - obsessed! She was proud and told us she was not afraid of Santa at Daycare this year.

Sunday pictures

Ava was looking particularly cute for church as she was singing for the service so we took a couple pictures before church. We ended with our "grumpy face" picture which Ava has mastered and Sam still can hardly do without smiling! Love these two!!!
