Spring Break

Spring Break 2015

Mom and the kids were home for Spring Break.  It was pretty low key this year but we did do some fun things!

Rode our bikes to the park

 Swimming at the YMCA

Hanging out at home with Baby Gavin

Netflix, puzzles, and Frozen Match!  Sam even beat mom (badly) at Match and mom prides herself on her amazing Memory!

On Thursday, we spent the whole day out in Kuna at Grandma and Papa's

Project time with Grandma

Sam and Ava rode their bikes, we went for a walk with Grandma and they hung out with Papa while he mowed the lawn.  They also spent lots of time in the sandbox and on the swingset.

...and, Ava, of course, found Papa's sprinklers!

Friday night was a lot of fun - we went over to the Cooke's for pizza and basketball.  The kids have SO MUCH fun with their cousins!!!

Gavin also got lots of love from Aunt Sara and his cousins

We also met dad one day at his work for lunch and the kids hung out in his office for a half day.

Not a bad week for just hanging out around home.

Gavin..... And his fans!

Sam and Ava can never get enough of Gavin.  Sam absolutely has to kiss Gavin before ever leaving the house or going to bed or first thing in the morning.  He also loves sitting next to Gavin in the car and is usually having Gavin hold his finger.

Gavin is very VERY loved!

Volunteering

Sorting food at the Boise Rescue Mission

Mom stayed home with baby Gavin but Sam and Ava went with dad and our Bible study to sort food.  When Sam and Ava got home, they were so animated and excited and ran up to me.... "Guess what Sam found at the Rescue Mission?".... (very animated) "Sam found a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch!!!"  - Sam chimes in, "The orphans are going to be SOOOO Excited."  Ha Ha!

Gavin is one month old!!

Our Sweet Gavin is One Month Old!!  I cannot believe how fast the time is flying by.
At one month, Gavin is much more alert and awake for longer periods of time.  He spends A LOT of time snuggling with mom, eating around the clock, and soaking in the craziness around him which includes constant (and i mean constant) kisses from his brother and sister!

Gavin gave me the best one month birthday present last night -
he slept for a 5 hour stint!!!!!
Very exciting in mom's world!

Gavin is still just a little thing - at his one month appointment today, he weighed in at 7 lb 14 oz.  He is in the 5th percentile for weight and the 7th percentile for height.  He was 3 weeks early so he will likely catch up!

Sam and Ava love Gavin and are very serious when it comes to what his nickname should be - Sam INSISTS it is "Gav" and Ava INSISTS it is "Little G"  - the cause of a few heated discussions.  He also gets called "Gavy" a lot and "Pumpkin" by mom.

Although Gavin is a pretty mellow baby, today was the first exception where he would not let me put him down all day and wanted to snack around the clock - the doctor warned me now is the time - about a 2 week window where baby has not learned to soothe themselves and become a lot more "needy" but should subside a little after the two weeks.  It was definitely time to get the Baby Bjorn out as he loves being with mom and so far tonight has worked wonders (he is attached and sleeping as i type!)
