9 Months & Fathers Day Weekend

Sam's 9 month check-up was a couple weeks late due to vacation, but here are the stats!

Weight:  22lbs, 2 oz (75%tile)
Height:   28in (50%tile)
Head:     18.5in  (90%tile)

Everything looked great and Sam was his usual happy, animated, paper-destroying self!  He only needed one shot this time and took it like a champ!

 FATHER'S DAY

It was a fun Father's Day weekend with a dinner at the Backstroms on Saturday and then church and family time on Sunday.  After church, we met the Kron's and Isaiah for a walk and some ice cream - the boys had a good time!

After our walk, Samuel helped Dad assemble and customize his new carseat(s) - yes, two - now that he is outgrowing his first one.  It is quite the comfy recliner and Sam seemed happy with dad's work!

Sam, you are lucky to have such a fun and loving Dad!  No one can get you laughing quite like he does with his monkey noises and goofy antics.  I love when he comes home how you stop what you are doing and strain to see over the couch and watch his every movement room to room - You ALWAYS need to know what dad is up to!    Just know that you are SO Loved!

The Destruction Continues

Sam continues to love his walker and the destruction in his wake is only growing!  From toilet paper to opening cupboards and magazines and books on coffee tables, Sam is finding ways to leave his mark!  I can only imagine the increase in mayhem when he is crawling and walking.

Speaking of crawling, Sam is not making huge strides in this area.  He loves to sit and rotate in circles on his butt, and will reach out for items and be on one knee, but he's not getting the crawling position!  For awhile he was face-planting a fair amount on soft surfaces, but if he EVER is on his tummy or ends up there, he cries and puts his head down, or rolls over.  He has been trying to pull himself up - he actually pulled himself up to standing in his crib, but it feels we are still a ways out from mobility!

Tough love - night Two

Tough Love... Night two - attempting to get Sam to sleep through the night.

Well, I think we are seeing success!  Night two we put Sam down at 7:30 after a full bottle and he woke up once - a few cries - found his paci and back to sleep until 5:15am - yes, that's 10 hours!  I made the rule to start that any wake up past 5am, I would get him a small bottle and feed him - after the bottle this am, he went back to sleep and was still sleeping at 7am.

I'm not waving the flag of complete success yet... I know it can all be disrupted by growth spurts and off nights, but to stop consistently getting up two times a night for bottles is way overdue!

Way to go SAM!
