Great Grandma Vander Stelt
Today we said goodbye to Grandma Vander Stelt. She was so special to me and I was so blessed to have such a wonderful grandmother who always made you feel special and loved when you walked through her door.
Grandparents are such special people in our lives - some of my memories include fishing and camping trips in Idaho and Canada, trips in the motorhome, visiting them in Pam Springs, holidays at her house that she made so special and so many more.
I have a few pictures of grandma with Sam - unfortunately could not find one with Ava. She loved kids SO MUCH!
This was the last day I saw grandma - the day she was moving to the memory care portion of their home, my mom brought her to my house to meet baby Gavin who was only 4 days old.
Grandmas are very special people in our lives and mine was just that!

Easter 2015
EASTER 2015
Thursday night mom and Ava dyed Easter eggs - Sam was too busy playing hockey outside and had already colored eggs at school (too cool!). Ava enjoyed it but much patience required - we are still sweeping up glitter in our dining room!
Our Easter weekend started Friday night with church and then on Saturday we went to a community event at our church - Eggstravaganza, which the kids were very excited about.
Sunday was church and off to Grandma and Papas. Before church, Sam & Ava got new Storybook Bibles from mom & dad, which they loved.
Fun with cousins
Easter egg/basket hunt time!

Big week
Gavin is 2 MONTHS old!
On Tuesday of this week, Gavin turned 2 months old.
He has started to fill out - mom weighed him in at 11 lbs so he is growing (Sam was closer to 13 pounds at this time for comparison). This week he also started trying to talk a lot more with his gurgling/giggling cooing noises - very cute.
He also has been doing a little better at the sleep thing. When we put him down between 9:30-11, he will usually sleep a 3-5 hour window. The last few nights the first feeding has been closer to 4 am which in moms world is nothing short of AWESOME!
Gavin is smothered by his brother and sister and loved by all of us!
Ava Back to School
Ava started her new school this week - Little Scholars. She was excited to have her new frozen blanket, backpack and lunchbag - and to get to pack a lunch like Sam. Sam was pumping her up about the new school and all the fun toys they have.
She did great at drop off and jumped right in - they said she had a good day. When I picked her and Sam up, the highlight of her day was when Sam came at 3:30 and they found each other outside - she got a hug from Sam and Matias and played with them. Sam looks out for her when he gets there.
On day two, she was in timeout when I came to pick her up - they asked her not to tear a book - she looked at them and tore it. She is a strong-willed one and testing her limits.... they said she was also sad at nap and said she missed her mommy :( She is such a trooper!
Also, this week, mom officially started working again from home with Gavin. I took a panorama of my office - from pump and nursing chair to nap nanny, changing station, work stuff, and playmat! Gavin does pretty well and mom can actually get a fair amount done.

Sam
SAMUEL
A few pictures of Sam from the last few weeks.
He is getting better on his big bike and we have been going to the park a lot - Mom and dad just need to get out with him more often.
We got a BIG laugh on this one.... Sam has been to Stampede basketball games and gotten an autographed calendar from the Spirit Team (Cheerleaders) so we joke about Cheerleaders a lot.
A couple weeks ago, Sam got his calendar out and told mom he needed to take it to bed so he knew what day of the month it was........
Sam is absolutely thriving in PreK and loves it. It is so fun to see how much he is learning - we hear him sounding out words and even teaching (trying) Ava letters and sounds.
He brings home lots of art projects as well - this was our recent favorite... note it is anatomically correct!
Even better, it is so fun to hear him talk about God and Jesus and stories in the Bible. The other day after school he told me the WHOLE story of Jesus dying on the cross from the soldiers and the crown of thorns to the robbers on the cross next to Jesus and how they responded to Him. He talked of Jesus' resurrection and how it was for our sins. It was awesome to hear his excitement and enthusiasm. We also hear a lot about Jesus and how He loves us.
His teacher gave him his first little Bible at school yesterday and he hasn't put it down - it even went to bed with him!
