Life is wonderful and we are very blessed... so, that is the usual!
We had a fun weekend with Sam
Friday after work, I got Sam out in the jog stroller for our maiden voyage. It was a little chilly on the backside of Lake Calhoun with the wind, but Sam seemed to enjoy. Mom found jogging with a stroller to be A LOT more work! I jogged the lake one day with the stroller and the next without and would gauge it as requiring 40% more energy! So, I'm not going to leave Sam behind, but it will require a higher level of fitness!
Saturday, we got a laugh out of Sam while he napped. He has a few "Lovies" - his Pup Pup, Mr. Monks, and his tag blanket. Well, when he sleeps, Pup Pup and the tag blanket often end up on his face like below.
Otherwise, Sam is a happy baby and loves to just sit and play with all his toys. He loves his stacker toy he got from the Hodeks, his basketball plastic container of little stuffed animals from the Berglunds, and anything else he can reach and put in his mouth, basically. Below was a semi-frozen teether he enjoyed for a bit.
I have to mention what else Sam has found and LOVES to play with......
What's up next for us? A little sleep training. Sam goes to be easily around 7-8pm but has been waking up a lot and then sleeps next to mom. This was the first week it didn't work as well and I think it's because he is just getting bigger. Several nights resulted in poor sleep due to all his squirming - I even woke to fingers up my nose!!! Also, we are still working on solids - cereal, veggies, and fruit, but it is a SLOW GO with Sam. He's just not that interested.
Otherwise, the most fun thing this week was I consider that I got my first big hug from Sam. He just grabbed my face and pulled himself to me and smothered me. (I think Mr. Monks got hugs before me!) It actually reminded me of hanging out with my sister when Braden was little and he would do the same to her - I remember how sweet it was, and now how happy it is to be me!!!!
