The trail was really fun as parts of it were narrow windy trails through lava rock and some of it very forested and mossy, almost enchanted forest-like.
We spent a lot of time just hanging out at the house and enjoying the amenities at Black Butte Ranch. Sam loved all the dirt to play construction and the kids loved the space to ride their bikes.
Our digs for the weekend. The kids got to share a room upstairs and each slept on their own bottom bunk bed - they thought it was pretty exciting!
Time at the park
Dad was pretty much obsessed with chopping wood and building fires all weekend, but no one minded that. Although hot during the day, the evenings and mornings were chilly so we spent a lot of time enjoying the warm fire!
The last afternoon there we spent several hours at the pool and splash pad and the kids loved it. We had perfect 80+ degree weather and sunshine so it was the perfect last hurrah of the summer!
The kids especially had fun with the pool noodles we found at the house. I think they went up and down the ramp with them at least 50 times!
We also saw lots and lots and lots of deer - they were everywhere on the property and the kids enjoyed watching them wherever we went.
We hope we get another chance to spend time at this house - we all had a great time!
