Ava's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe my little Peanut is 3 years old!  We had such a fun weekend celebrating Ava and the blessing she has been to us - she certainly adds excitement and personality to our family!

Friday, the day before her birthday, Mom, Dad and Sam came by her daycare with cupcakes for her to celebrate with her friends.  Mom got there first and as we waited for Dad and Sam, Ava would NOT let anyone sit next to her - if they tried, she said with great emphasis -"This chair is for my brudder SAM - You can't sit here!"

Friday Night, all the aunts and uncles and cousins came over for dinner and birthday cake!

Present time!  Ava was excited for presents and tore through them like a bandit, throwing them as she looked at them..... we'll blame it on the Terrible Twos & Threes!

Mom's project for Ava's Birthday was making her a superhero cape and mask!  Sam had gotten one for Christmas and she really loved it so we made her one so she could be a superhero as well!

A very fun party getting to hang out with the family!

On Saturday, Ava's actual birthday, we went out to breakfast to the Black Bear Diner where the meal ended with the servers clapping and singing Happy Birthday to Ava - with a scoop of ice cream!  We then later went to the BSU hockey game downtown and met our friends, the Thompsons, followed by frozen yogurt downtown.   A very fun birthday spending the weekend together.

Ava at 3 years old.
  • She is very tall (almost as tall as Sam) and almost into wearing size 4!
  • Ava LOVES anything Frozen and loves to sing the songs - most of her gifts were frozen-themed!
  • Ava loves being a princess and whenever home, she always, and i mean, always, ends up changing into one of her Princess dresses.
  • Her favorite lovey is Kitty from Build-A-Bear
  • Ava has perfected a "Grumpy Face" that she can do on demand.
  • Ava is destructive.... she will tear anything and everything apart within seconds..... to art crafts, toys, books - nothing is safe
  • She is our snack hound and nothing is safe if you turn your back or leave on the counter.  She will wake up and the first words out of her mouth will be "fruit snacks" - which we don't have in the house all that often anymore!
  • Sam and Ava are very good friends - there is a lot of fighting, but for the most part they can be found playing puppy, hiding from mom & dad, building puzzles, or making giant messes together.
  • Ava calls mom "Mama!" and i love it.  She usually thinks dad is "stinky" but she knows the weak link when it comes to chips, donuts and snacks.
  • Ava has a lot of personality and spunk and we cant even imagine what that will look like in 13 years!
