South Lake Tahoe

We had a fun week long vacation to South Lake Tahoe.  We decided to leave a day early and spend one night in Reno at a casino with fun swimming pools and attractions.  It turned out to be a really fun day / night for all of us.

The highlight for all of us were the amazing outdoor pools - there were 3 heated options - one with a warm waterfall and one with lots of room to swim and play.  The first night we swam in the warm pool and it snowed on us - the kids loved it.  We had so much fun we went swimming the next morning  before checking out as the kids couldn't get enough.

So, the next day was on to the vacation home in Tahoe - talk about good first impressions of Tahoe and our accommodations!

We did a lot of sledding outside in the backyard.  We just had to have adults stand near trees and at the bottom to prevent sledders running into the house!

 We also had lots of time to relax and hang out and for the kids to play.  

Sam was cute, he has a new phrase(s) he uses a lot lately, "I have a great idea.... " (then he explains great idea).  Or, he says, "Thats a great plan" if you suggest something.  Well, almost every night, Sam would say, "I have a great idea... lets make popcorn and watch a movie... I am SO Essited(sp)!"

  One of our fun adventures was riding the Heavenly gondola up the mountain - the kids were so brave and loved it!

All in all, it was a very fun trip and the kids had a blast.  A highlight for mom and dad was a date night on the town with dinner, drinks, a movie and craps at the casino.  Dad also got to go snowboarding one day while mom and the kids went to an indoor play spot - Ava below - they had lots of fun there.

We made lots of good memories and hope to be back!  It was so fun to hang out with one of my best friends and her family and the week - I'm sad we live so far apart!
